In fact, some of the click-bait headlines tell you to look out because “almost all organic fruits and veggies (especially those in California)… What’s the difference between mandarin oranges and halos? You might have heard that Halo “Cutie” mandarin oranges (previously called Clementine’s) are being grown with waste water from oil fracking. Where are the Halo Cutie oranges coming from? If paying a little more for clementines will keep you away from junk food, it’s well worth 40 cents per pound. Clementines are easier to peel and taste better than oranges. Vitamin C in food is better absorbed by the body than the mega-dose of vitamin C you would get from a supplement.Ĭlementines don’t cost much more than oranges, especially when you consider that oranges have more peel and pith.
